Very stately, this 1910 Rockford Watch Company pocket watch keeps excellent time, at 113 years old!
It features a bright, crisp, white porcelain dial with the Rockford signature, bold black Breguet numerals, small red Breguet numerals for every five seconds positioned above the large numerals, and black minute marks. Please note that there is a chip in the porcelain just below the sub second dial, along with some minor marks on the dial. These flaws are minor and do not affect the pocket watch's operation. The hour hand is spade-style, while the minute hand is a more simple, slender style with a slight diamond flare toward the tip. The sub second hand is a stick style. All hands are black.
The 54 mm case is all silverode. According to pocketwatchmuseum.com, "Silverode was a logo of the Philadelphia watch case Company indicating that the metal alloy had several different white metals in the composition, all EXCEPT silver." This material was used as it was resistant to corrosives of this era. The case back is all smooth, showing light wear less than expected for being this old.
The crown is strong and durable, and gold in color.
The movement features beautiful damascening patterns, 17 jewels, is Grade 935 size 18S, openface with a lever movement setting. It is signed R.W.Co., Rockford, ILL., 17 Jewels, and 795861 (serial number). The crystal is plastic with a screw-on cover and a screw-on case back.
This is a very attractive, antique pocket watch in good condition that keeps excellent time! It will be a nice addition to any watch collection! The pocket watch holder is not included with the purchase of this pocket watch.

We prefer to shoot photographs outside when weather is permitting. However, when we shoot indoors, please be aware that we shoot our photographs inside of lightboxes that are lit with 360 LED bulbs. This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust lighting when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.
